The Art of Mediation

<p>In response to increasing demand, Scottish Mediation Network, in partnership with HopeLinn Consultancy, have developed a part-time mediation course which meets the new practice standards for admission to the Scottish Mediation Register.Completion of course will enable participants to:</p><p>&bull; Mediate broad ranging disputes</p><p>&bull; Persuade participation in mediation, even of the most reluctant</p><p>&bull; Learn when to use mediation to get people back to effective working</p><p>&bull; Take a mediation style approach to meetings</p><p>&bull; Enhance professional practice</p><p>&bull; Develop a personal mediation portfolio</p><p>&bull; Assessed/Qualifying course will satisfy the training requirement for admission to the Scottish Mediation Register</p><p>Who is this suitable for?</p><p>&bull; Those who seek a basic grounding in mediation skills with an aim to practising as a mediator</p><p>&bull; Those with responsibility for handling disputes</p><p>&bull; HR managers, trainers, union representatives and policy advisors</p><p>&bull;Managers and executives in commercial, public and voluntary sectors&bull; Healthcare and education professionals&bull; Solicitors, accountants and other professionals&bull; Service providers seeking to develop their dispute resolution systems</p><p>When? - Tuesday evenings 6pm &ndash; 8pm, 6th September until 8th November 2011</p><p>There will also be two Saturday workshops and an assessed piece of written for those who wish to achieve sufficient training to meet the training Practice Standards of the Scottish Mediation RegisterMember Rate: Introductory course &pound;600 or Assessed/Qualifying course &pound;800Non-member rate: Introductory course &pound;800 or Assessed/Qualifying course &pound;1000Membership of Scottish mediation Network costs &pound;40 for individuals and is free for students or those in receipt of means tested benefits.
