Mediation and Restorative Justice: Growing from Conflict into Inafa? Maolek

<p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; background-color: #f6f6e9">Inafa&rsquo; Maolek has announced that it is sponsoring a conciliation conference on Wednesday March 12 at the Guam Marriott.</p><p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; background-color: #f6f6e9">The conference is entitled &quot;Mediation and Restorative Justice: Growing from Conflict into Inafa&rsquo; Maolek&rdquo;.</p><p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; background-color: #f6f6e9">De La Salle Professor Anna Malindog will be the featured speaker</p><p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; background-color: #f6f6e9">Malindog will discuss &ldquo;Mediation Practices among the Indigenous Communities of Southeast Asia:&nbsp; Case Studies of the Philippines and Myanmar&rdquo;.<br /><br />This lecture will describe traditional practices of managing and resolving disputes since time immemorial, and the extent to which these peacemaking customs are still practiced in modern times.<br /><br />Inafa&rsquo; Maolek founder &amp; President Emeritus Pat Wolff met Malindog at the Asia Pacific Mediation Conference Manila Summit which she organized in December 2013.&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; background-color: #f6f6e9">Anna Malindog completed her B.A. degree (political sciences) at the University of the Philippines; her masters degree was in International Relations was completed in France.&nbsp; She is affiliated with the World Mediation.<br /><br />Malindog&rsquo;s March 12th Conference lecture nicely mirrors that of Estonia&rsquo;s Jaanus Kangur, whose presentation focuses upon the dispute resolution practices of traditional Yap islanders.<br /><br />Malindog has also done research on &ldquo;Women&rsquo;s Struggles as Peace builders in Self-Determination Movements in Burma and India&rdquo;.<br /><br />For conference info call Inafa&rsquo; Maolek at 475-1977 or Pat Wolff at 649-7502.</p>
